Date: 2014-01-30

The Kwara State Governor, Dr. AbdulFatah Ahmed has released additional 27million Naira to the Kwara Scholarship Board for the continuation of the payment of Bursary to students of Kwara origin across tertiary institutions in the country.

The chairman of the Kwara State Scholarship Board, Hon. Isiaka Mogaji stated this on Tuesday in a release signed by the Board's Press Secretary, Mallam Olalekan  Issa-Onilu, explaining that the money was the balance of 37 million recently approved by the state governor.

According to Mogaji, "you will recall that Dr. AbdulFatah Ahmed sometimes last year released the sum of 110 million Naira for the state Scholarship Board for the 2010/2011 payment of bursary to students of Kwara origin in various institutions of higher learning.

On the release of additional 27 million by Governor Ahmed, Mogaji said the money would give the board an opportunity to strengthen their movement to other institutions who are yet to receive the payment of bursary.

While commending the governor for the release of the fund, Mogaji seized the occasion to reiterate the state government's commitment to the welfare of students, urging them to reciprocate the kind gesture by facing their studies and be good ambassadors of the state by shunning all acts capable of tarnishing the good image of the state.
