Date: 2013-12-04

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, has advised political office holders in the country to put in place effective legislation, policies and programmes that would transform the lives of citizens positively, thereby reducing corruption in the country.

Prof. Ambali who gave this advice in a chat with newsmen in Ilorin noted that the best way to stem corruption in the country is to guarantee future of everyone.

According to Ambali, political office holders should see the 170 million Nigerians as by putting in place good legislation and programmes which capable of solving Nigerians challenges problems.

Professor Ambali however lamented that it is wrong for political office holders to accumulate illicit wealth.

He explained that most developed nations make provisions for citizens who are without jobs by providing them with food and shelters, noting the number of hungry people in those countries are minimal.
