Baruten PDP dissociates self from Bio's comments on Saraki
The Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State has disassociated itself from the comment by the former minister of transport, Alhaji Isa Ibrahim Bio, against former governor Bukola Saraki.
The party which described Bio's comments as "reckless and unguarded" said his "inordinate ambition" spurred him to make the statement against Saraki, describing him as an ingrate.
The party in a resolution jointly signed by the chairman, Idris Buko, deputy chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed, women leader, Hajiya Zainab Umar and youth leader, Alhaji Is-haq Audu warned the ex-minister to desist from rubbishing the image of the party.
"We noted that inordinate ambition was responsible for those unwarranted attacks on the leadership. Therefore, he was not representing the interest of least majority of our people.
We also wish to reiterate our loyalty to the leadership of our party in the state under Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed and Senator Bukola Saraki."
Contacted for reaction on phone yesterday, Bio who hails from the local government said he was on transit and asked our correspondent to get back to him in the evening.
It would be recalled that the former minister who was also Speaker of the state House of Assembly for six years and governorship aspirant in 2011 had taken a swipe at Saraki in a recent interview and accused Saraki of being self-centred and practising politics of elimination unlike his late father, Dr. Olusola Saraki.
