PDP crisis: Jonathan to meet aggrieved governors Sunday
As the internal wrangling among members of the people's Democratic Party, PDP, continues unabated, President Goodluck Jonathan has remained resolute and strong in his effort towards bringing all the aggrieved members back into the party fold, as he has scheduled another meeting with the seven aggrieved governors to hold this Sunday.
Sources have revealed that invitation letters have already been sent to the governors for the all important meeting.
The letter which was signed by the President's Chief of Staff, Mike Oghiadomhe, stated that the meeting would hold by 9 p.m. at the First Lady's Conference Room, the State House, Presidential Villa.
The aggrieved governors are Rabiu Kwankwanso(Kano); Aliyu Wamakko(Sokoto), Chibuike Amaechi (Rivers), Sule Lamido (Jigawa), Aliyu Babangida (Niger); Abdulfatai Ahmed(Kwara); and Murtala Nyako (Adamawa).
Dailypost has gathered that the governors are all ready to be part of the meeting.
Relatively, a source had told PUNCH thus, "Yes, we have been invited to the meeting, which will hold on Sunday. We will be there and we hope that this time around, we would be able to resolve our differences."
Recall that two similar meetings have been held between the president and the governors, but ended in deadlock as no tangible result was achieved at the end.
Analysts are of the opinion that, this time around, Jonathan wouldn't let these governors walk out of the villa without reconciliation.
A presidential source had told DailyPost that, Jonathan had on several occasions scolded some PDP chieftains who are of the opinion that the return of the aggrieved governors be made tough. According to him " the president believes that 2015 election can only become successful if the party is totally free of any form of wrangling."
