Offa Poly Lecturer slumps, dies during Igala community meeting

A lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State on Sunday evening reportedly died while attending a community meeting.

The deceased was identified as Ayatu Momoh.

Momoh, a lecturer in the institution's Department of Mass Communication, hailed from Kogi State and was the secretary of Igala Local Community in Offa.

He was attending the community's meeting when the incident happened.

Although the institution's Head of Media and Publicity, Olayinka Iroye, did not respond to calls made to his telephone line as of the time of filing this report on Sunday, a lecturer in the department confirmed Momoh's death.

The lecturer, who did not want his name in print, told our correspondent that, "we learnt he slumped and died while attending his Igala community meeting in Offa on Sunday. He was the secretary of the local community in Offa."
