Ahmed's Re-election Campaign Team Tours Kwara
The All Progressives Congress in Kwara State has flagged off the re-election bid of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed. Hammed Shittu was at the inauguration where APC members and supporters converged to pledge their unalloyed support for the bid. The Kwara APC campaign has since visited other parts of the state
With supporters coming from the 193 wards in the state, the leaders of the APC at the kick-off of the re-election bid of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed reiterated that there was no vacancy at the Ahmadu Bello Government House, Ilorin.
The leaders of the party that attended the occasion included chairman of the party, Alhaji Isola Balogun Fulani; the Director General of the campaign committee of the re-election of Governor Ahmed who is also the Speaker of the State’s House of Assembly, Razak Atunwa; Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje and the Senator representing Kwara North, Shaaba Lafiaji.
Speaking at the rally, the APC leader in the state, Senator Bukola Saraki said the present administration in the state had performed creditably since Ahmed assumed the leadership of the state. He said the achievements recorded by the administration cut across all the facets of the state economy.
Saraki added that the people of the state should not be deceived by the antics of the opposition Peoples Democractic Party in the state and that they should come out and cast their votes for the APC during the polls.
Fulani enjoined the people of the state to continue to vote for the party so as to add more values to the socio well-being of the people of the state.
Ahmed told the gathering that, he had fulfilled all his electioneering campaigns to the people of the state.
He said he would continue to build on the success recorded during the period in order to bring more dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of Kwarans.
The Director General of the campaign committee, Atunwa lauded the large turn-out of the supporters and members of the party at the rally. He called on them to rally round the party so as to ensure total electoral victory of the party during the elections.
The campaign train of the APC in the state subsequently moved to the Kwara South senatorial district of the state where they addressed the teeming members and supporters of the party.
At the home town of the governor in Share, Ifelodun Local Government Council of the state, the campaign team was given a rousing welcome. Atunwa told the supporters that the APC would not relent in its efforts at enhancing the socio economic development of the area.
The visit of the governor to his home town was a triumphant entry as the sons and sons and daughter of the town were at the hand to receive their son and the APC campaign team to the ancient town of Share.
The Olupako of Share, Oba Garuba noted with delight that Share had witnessed accelerated socio-economic development within the last three and half years of his administration and praised Senator Bukola Saraki as well as other hierarchy of the party. He assured that Ahmed will not disappoint the people of Kwara State if re-elected.
He disclosed that the people of Share land were solidly behind the APC led government in Kwara State. Speaking during the rally, Ahmed who was visibly elated over the massive support from his kinsmen promised to embark more on people-oriented project across the State if re-elected to further make democracy more meaningful.
He said he was overwhelmed by the warm reception accorded him and his entourage and called on the people of Ifelodun Local Government to vote for all APC Candidates to ensure continuity of good governance in the State.
The Governor explained that his government had redeemed some of his electioneering promises and assured that he would consolidate on his achievement if re-elected.
At Igbaja town, the royal father of the town and the Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government Traditional Council and Elese of Igbaja, Oba Amodu Awunu Babalola Arepo II said the people of the town would ensure the re-election of Governor Ahmed during the election. Oba Amodu said the performances of the governor in the last four years were commendable and noteworthy.
At Oke-Ode, the traditional ruler, the Elesa, Oba Abdulkadir Adelodun Akebiosu promised that the entire people of the town would reward Ahmed with massive votes for the tremendous developmental projects in the town.
Oba Adelodun listed some of the achievements of the administration in the town including the establishment of School of Nursing, road construction and the building of a new palace.
The Olomu of Omupo, Oba Yakub Buari, in his remarks during the governor’s campaign in Omupo, aligned with the views of other traditional rulers, opinion leaders and others that Ahmed deserves a second term as the governor of the State.
In Offa town, APC supporters were at the hand to receive the campaign team to the town. They paid a royal homage to the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi where the monarch praised the present administration in the state.
Oba Gbadamosi assured the APC campaign team that the people of the town would give them their votes during the next month general polls in the state.
At the Isin Local Government Council of the state, the campaign team was also given a rousing welcome. From Isanlu-Isin, Ijara-Isin, Owu- Isin towns visited by the APC campaign team, the people vowed that they would come out enmasse to cast their votes for Ahmed and all other candidates of the party for the next month general polls.
At Atunwa’s Asa Local Government Area, thousands of APC supporters came out to receive Ahmed. Ahmed donated 10 bore holes and electric transformers to some communities in the area “so as to add more values to the socio economic development of the area.”
He asked the community leaders in the area to liaise with the Ministry of Water Resources to jointly take a decision on where the boreholes will be located.
He equally asked leaders of various communities in the area that had requested for transformer to liaise with the Ministry of Energy to take delivery of the transformers.
At Alapa, both the governor and the APC leader in the state, Saraki donated N1m towards the completion of the town’s central mosque.
