2015: Kwara APC wants Saraki to contest for presidency
Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the three senatorial districts in Kwara State have called on a former governor of the state, Senator Bukola Saraki, to contest the 2015 presidential election.
Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, the spokesperson of the group, Alhaji Jimoh Balogun, who is also the APC chairman for Kwara South senatorial district, said Senator Saraki exemplified the qualities of a good leader that will take the country to its rightful place.
“We have identified in recent times, the importance of electing credible, reputable and competent hands to run the affairs of the country.
We make bold to say that the right person is our amiable leader, Dr. ABubakar Bukola Saraki, Turakin of Ilorin”, he said.
The people, who said Nigerians were yearning for good governance from their leaders, added that Senator Saraki had experienced great success in both the private sector and public service in the country.
Alhaji Balogun also said that Saraki has equal opportunities, like any other members of APC that may want to contest for 2015 presidential ticket, adding that he is an able hand that can handle the present situation and challenges in the country.
“It is time that basic needs of people are provided. From our observation of leaders that can steer ship of Nigeria to the land of promiseof, our amiable leaders, Senator Saraki is the qualified candidate. We need good roads, good hospitals, better management of our economy, improved revenue generation, stable polity, adequate protection of lives and property, constant and stable supply of electricity, water, food and decent housing. We want sensible policies that have human approach to make our industries work and create opportunities for our God-given talents.
“Saraki has promised to work tirelessly and selflessly to get our economy moving, provide adequate security, housing, industries, employment generation and boost our agricultural production. He has also promised to make our educational sector functional for our assured future”, he said.
