Saraki and Kwara PDP mourn Prof. Ogunsola
An elder statesman and former Chairman of the defunct All Peoples Party (APP) in Kwara State, Professor Albert Ogunsola died yesterday morning at the age of 90 years.
A close associate of the late Second Republic Senate Leader, Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki, the first son, Dr. Femi Ogunsola confirmed the death to newsmen.
Prof. Ogunsola, was a former Deputy Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
His death came barely 10 months after the death of Saraki, the late political icon who was the founder of the Northern Union (NU).
It was Saraki who made Ogunsola the APP chairman in the state under which platform the late former Governor Mohammed Lawal won the 1999 election.
The state governor Alhaji Abdulfattah Ahmed has described his death as shocking, saying the demise of Prof. Ogunshola "marked the eclipse of another shinning light in the political armament of the late Dr. Olusola Saraki political family".
Also, the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former governor Bukola Saraki have commiserated with the Ogunsola's family.
The PDP in a statement by its publicity secretary, Alhaji Mas'ud Adebimpe said the late politician would be missed greatly by those who looked up to him for wise counselling.
Saraki in a statement signed by his media aide, Bankole Omishore said he received the news of Ogunsola's death with shock.
