Kwara State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has indicated its recognition of the Abubakar Kwau Baraje-led faction of the party as the authentic PDP in the country.

The party stated this while asserting that it remains one and indivisible in the state under the leadership of governor of the state, Abdulfatah Ahmed, and his predecessor in office, Bukola Saraki.

Secretary of the party, Yemi Afolayan, who spoke on behalf of the chairman, Ishola Balogun Fulani, said the party no longer reckons with the Bamanga Tukur’s national leadership.

"The Kwara State chapter of our party remained loyal and committed to the authentic PDP, whose vision is to provide honest and selfless service to the generality of Nigerians.

"The Bamanga Tukur leadership is outdated and it has been dropped into waste basket of history as Baraje leadership has not only been acknowledged, embraced and endorsed but it has come to stay", he stated.

Afolayan, who said a one-time chairman of PDP in the state, Kunle Sulyman, and some others are laying claims to be executive members of the party in the state, alleged that the people are impostors.

He said that the party is not factionalised in the state and that the only existing one is that which they head.

"The impersonator of the office and indeed the state chapter of our great party are those dissidents whose antecedents in the political arena confirms these political jobbers that would hang to anything for survival.

"The party would not be deterred by these rented impersonators whose  antecedenis is known as dissidents who is always available to serve as an agent of destabilisation

"The Kwara PDP Chairman is Hon. Ishola Balogun Fulani, while Barrister Kunle Sulayman is an hungry politician," he asserted.
