Bode-Saadu/Jebba road: LG chair, lawmakers solicit govt assistance
The road, which links the Northern part of the country with the Southerner part, is in a deplorable condition, and has, therefore, been abandoned by motorists.
In an interview with our correspondent at Bode Saadu, the council chairman appealed to the federal government to, as a matter of urgency, repair the road.
Jimoh said that the call became imperative "because of the usefulness of the road," which, according to him, is the gateway between the North and the South.
He urged both state and federal governments to repair all the damaged portions of the road, saying that if the road was repaired, it would lead to a reduction in the number of armed robbery cases on it.
"We, therefore, appeal to the Kwara state and federal governments to help us by repairing Ilorin/ Bode-Saadu/ Jebba road to improve the security of lives and property of the people of the area," he said.
In separate interviews, Adifa, who represents Lanwa/Ejidongari of Moro local government in the House of Assembly, and Ibrahim, representing Ipaye/ Oloru/ Molete, urged the federal government to come to the people’s aid by rehabilitating the road "urgently."
