Kwara NUJ Correspondents Organise Prayer For Departed Colleague

Date: 2013-07-27

The Correspondents' Chapel of the Kwara Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists' (NUJ) on Friday organised a prayer for the repose of a departed colleague, Mr Olusola Owolabi.

In the inter-religious prayer session, an Islamic cleric, Imam Abubakar Kamal, charged the NUJ members to always remember death as an inevitable end to human beings.

He said that there was a time for every soul to live and die, but prayed that such sudden event would not occur again.

The cleric prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and the fortitude for the family and union to bear the loss.

Also, Pastor Moses Aransiola charged the NUJ members to remember God in their dealings.

He noted that good deeds would remain the only thing with the dead in the hereafter.

Aransiola charged people to expect death at any time, saying that death was only known to God and not human beings.

The News Agency of Nigeria, (NAN) reports that, Olusola Owolabi, who died in an auto crash was until his death a staff of the agency in Ilorin. (NAN)
