Ilorin Airport Cargo Terminal to be Completed Soon - Manager

Date: 2013-07-07

The Manager, Ilorin Airport, Mr Usman Saka, on Saturday said the airport's cargo terminal under construction would serve as alternative to the Murtala Mohammed International airport in Lagos.

Speaking to newsmen in Ilorin, Saka said that the Federal Government had embarked on remodelling of the airport and construction of a cargo terminal.

The Federal Government, in line with its transformation agenda in the aviation sector, is constructing a cargo terminal in Ilorin Airport to serve as an alternative to Murtala International Airport.

The cargo will commence operation soon, just as the airport hanger is almost completed,  he said.

Saka said that the airport has a 3.1-kilometre runway, constructed to meet international standards.

He said that flight operations had improved tremendously in the state and commended the Federal Government for the strides made so far in repositioning the aviation industry.
