Kwara United Coach Says Home Draw's A Good Result
In spite of securing a 2-2 draw with visiting Niger Tornadoes FC on Wednesday in Abuja, Kwara United’s coach Tunde Sanni still had cause to be happy with the result.
The week 14 match in the 2011/2012 Nigerian Premier League competition was played at the Area 3 pitch in Abuja.
The match was the Ilorin side’s first home game since after being ordered to Abuja for their home matches.
The club had been punished for its fans’ misbehavior after their week 12 match at home with Sunshine Stars of Ilorin on March 3.
Sanni who spoke after the match said the draw was a good result for his team.
"This is a very good start for us, to be here to play a draw after we have been banned from home.
"If this was the kind of officiating we had back in Ilorin, there won’t be any problem. The officiating was very good and that gave us more confidence to work harder," he said.
The coach however noted the team’s poor performance in the first half of the game which resulted in conceding a goal in that half.
"The first half was not good enough for us as our boys had many chances but could not convert any till we conceded a goal before the end of first half.
"But we thank God they woke up in the second half, and they had a good grips on the ball and they converted some of the chances which have now put a smile on our face," he said.
