Senator for Kwara Central District, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has promised to continue to facilitate projects that will have positive impact on the lives of the people of Kwara State.

Dr. Saraki who spoke at the meeting of Ajikobi Central Ward of the People’s Democratic Party in Ilorin West Local Government during the weekend, said he would do everything possible to ensure that people at the grassroots are not neglected.

He particularly assured people of Ajikobi Ward of more developmental projects, adding that more employment opportunities would be provided.

He also assured them that environmental and erosion problems in the area would be addressed.

Saraki, who is the chairman of Senate Committee on Ecology, expressed happiness that work has finally commenced on the dredging of Asa-River.

Urging the contractor to speed up work to ensure timely completion of the project, he said he project would prevent flooding and impact positively on the lives of Kwarans.

Speaking on the move to curb occurrence flooding in some part of the country, he said the Federal Government had set up a committee to find a lasting solution to the problem of flooding.

He promised the National Assembly’s readiness to monitor the activities of the committee and other government agencies through oversight function with a view to putting them on their toes.
