Rescue Operation Underway After Building Collapse at Popo Giwa, Ilorin
Men of the Fire Service have been photographed carrying a girl who was rescued from the rubble during the ongoing rescue operation at Ile Oyan Masalasi Gogoro, Popo Giwa, Ilorin.
The incident occurred in the early hours of today at No. 41 Popo Giwa Street, beside Gogoro Mosque, where a building collapsed, trapping members of a family beneath the rubble.
Two persons, identified as the father of the family and a child, have so far been rescued alive.
Five other family members are still believed to be trapped under the collapsed structure as emergency responders and community members continue efforts to rescue them.
