Emir Commends AbdulRazaq for Donating Vehicles to Ilorin Chief Imam, Council of Ulamah
The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has commended Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for donating four official vehicles to the Chief Imam of Ilorin and the Council of Ulamah, describing the gesture as another demonstration of the governor's support for religious institutions.
The vehicles were presented on Wednesday at the Emir's Palace in Ilorin, where the governor was represented by his Senior Adviser and Counsellor, Alhaji Saadu Salau.
The donation includes a brand-new Toyota Prado for the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani; a bus for the Council of Ulamah; a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) for Imam Imale, Sheikh Abdullahi AbdulHameed; and another SUV for Imam Gambari, Sheikh AbdulAzeez Sulaiman.
Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Emir praised Governor AbdulRazaq for fulfilling the promise he made during the installation of the Chief Imam and for his continued support for religious institutions across the state.
He also offered prayers for Allah's guidance, wisdom and continued success for the governor in the discharge of his responsibilities.
Speaking on behalf of the governor, Alhaji Saadu Salau said the donation was intended to strengthen the partnership between the Kwara State Government, the Ilorin Emirate and the Council of Ulamah.
He noted that the governor had fulfilled the commitment made during the installation of the new Chief Imam while extending similar support to the Council of Ulamah, Imam Imale and Imam Gambari.
The Chief Imam expressed appreciation to Governor AbdulRazaq for the donation, describing it as a timely intervention that would ease transportation challenges faced by religious leaders.
He said the bus would enhance the operations of the Council of Ulamah by enabling members to travel together for official assignments and religious engagements.
The presentation comes a week after Governor AbdulRazaq donated official vehicles to the Kwara State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), as part of his administration's continued support for faith-based organisations in the state.
