Kwara Reaffirms Free Common Entrance Examination for Eligible Pupils
The Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to providing the Common Entrance Examination free of charge for all eligible pupils and has directed public primary and junior secondary schools to fully comply with the policy.
The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe, restated the government's position while speaking with journalists in Ilorin.
He explained that the examination is fully funded by the state government and that no fees have been approved for participating pupils.
Dr Olohungbebe urged principals and head teachers to ensure that no unauthorised charges are collected from parents or guardians under any guise during the examination process.
He said the government expects school administrators to uphold public confidence by ensuring that every eligible child sits the examination free of charge.
The commissioner added that the administration remains committed to transparency, accountability and equitable access to education, warning that any reported violations would be investigated and dealt with in accordance with established regulations.
He also called on school administrators to maintain the highest standards of integrity throughout the examination process, reaffirming the government's commitment to credible, fair and malpractice-free assessments across the state's education system.
