IGP Disu Approves Promotion of 374 Kwara Police Officers
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved the promotion of 374 officers serving in the Kwara State Police Command in a bid to reward diligence, professionalism and dedicated service within the Nigeria Police Force.
The promotion, which forms part of an ongoing nationwide elevation of deserving personnel across the force, affected officers across various ranks in the command.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Kwara State Command, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, 365 police constables were elevated to the rank of corporal, while two corporals were promoted to the rank of sergeant.
The statement added that "five sergeants were promoted to the rank of inspector, while two superintendents of police were advanced to the rank of chief superintendent of police."
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Adekimi Ojo, congratulated the newly promoted officers, describing the elevation as a recognition of their commitment, sacrifice and invaluable contributions to maintaining law and order in the state.
Adekimi stated: "This promotion is a recognition of the commitment, sacrifice and invaluable contributions of the beneficiaries to the maintenance of law and order in Kwara State and the country at large."
The police commissioner noted that promotion should not only be seen as a reward for outstanding performance but also as a call to greater responsibility and service.
"Promotion is both a reward for good performance and a call to greater responsibility. Officers who have benefited from this exercise must remain disciplined, professional and committed to the core values of the Nigeria Police Force," he stated.
He urged the promoted officers to rededicate themselves to the protection of lives and property, as well as the maintenance of peace and public safety across the state.
Adekimi also commended the Inspector-General of Police for prioritising personnel welfare, career progression and institutional development within the force.
"The Inspector-General of Police has demonstrated unwavering commitment to personnel welfare, career advancement and the overall development of the Nigeria Police Force.
"This promotion exercise has significantly boosted the morale of officers and men of the command," he added.
The latest promotion exercise reflects the police leadership's resolve to encourage excellence, dedication and professionalism among officers while strengthening service delivery across commands nationwide.
