The event, which held on Wednesday, 3 June 2026, at the NBA Ilorin Secretariat Hall, Kwara State High Court Complex, Ilorin, focused on the theme: "Distancing Islam from Violent Extremism." The book launch took place on 4 June 2026 at Kwara State Banquet Hall, GRA Ilorin, Kwara State.
According to a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of MULAN Kwara, Dr Taofeeq Abdulraheem, and the Publicity Secretary, Ridwan Musa, Esq., the symposium was designed to promote a deeper understanding of the true teachings of Islam while addressing contemporary misconceptions linking the religion to violence and extremism.
The organisers noted that the discourse provided a platform for critical conversations on the role of legal practitioners, academics, religious leaders, and public institutions in promoting peace, tolerance, justice, and national unity.
The event attracted an array of distinguished jurists, Senior Advocates of Nigeria, academics, legal practitioners, religious leaders, students, policymakers, civil society actors, members of the media, and other stakeholders who engaged in robust discussions on the subject matter and related contemporary issues.
