Kwara Lawmaker Dr Saba Attacked by Thugs After Political Meeting in Tsaragi

Date: 2026-04-23

Political thugs, on Tuesday, reportedly attacked the member representing Edu/Moro/Patigi federal constituency in the National Assembly, Dr Ahmed Adam Saba, at a political meeting in Tsaragi, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The Tribune gathered that the lawmaker was attacked while he was leaving the venue of the political meeting in Tsaragi.

Speaking on the development, the lawmaker decried the incident, describing it as a sponsored attack on his life by political opponents.

Saba, therefore, called on the Nigeria Police to investigate the attack and bring the suspected sponsors and perpetrators to book to serve as a deterrent to others.

The Kwara lawmaker, who said that the attack would not deter him from continuing to serve his people, added that, "whoever has anything to offer would not descend so low and crude to be sending thugs to attack the people in a bid to intimidate the person".

"There's enough space in the sky for everyone to campaign and aspire to contest for any position. It's the Almighty Allah that giveth human beings power.

"Nobody can intimidate me by any means possible. I'm not a pushover in politics. Whoever is thinking along that direction should forget it," he said.

The lawmaker also said his life is in the safe hands of Almighty Allah, and that nobody can take it except it is the wish of Almighty Allah.
