Kwara PDP Begins Statewide Membership Information Update Exercise

Date: 2026-03-14

The Peoples Democratic Party in Kwara State has commenced a statewide membership information update aimed at strengthening its membership database and ensuring compliance with electoral regulations.

The exercise, which is to be conducted across all wards in the state, will take place during the party's regular ward meetings where members will be given the opportunity to update their personal information.

In a statement issued on Friday by the party's State Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara, the party informed members that the exercise would begin immediately across the state.

"The Kwara State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party wishes to inform all members across the state that the Party is commencing a Membership Information Update Exercise across all wards," Adewara stated.

He added that the exercise would be conducted during the party's ward meetings, where members would be expected to update their records.

"This exercise will take place during ward meetings, where members will be able to update their membership records accordingly," the statement said.

According to the party, members participating in the update exercise will be required to provide specific personal information for proper documentation.

"As part of the update process, members are required to provide the following information: National Identification Number (NIN), Date of Birth, Residential Address, Local Government Area (LGA), Polling Unit (PU) and Passport Photograph," Adewara explained.

The party noted that the update is necessary to ensure that its membership database complies with legal provisions guiding political parties in Nigeria.

"This update is being conducted in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act, to ensure that the Party maintains a credible, accurate, and verifiable membership database," he added.

The party also clarified that specific officials would be responsible for managing the digital registration platform in each ward.

"Members are also informed that only the two designated Registration Officers selected in each ward will have access to the official digital registration portal for this exercise," Adewara stated.

He further explained that the digital process would be carried out alongside manual documentation already distributed to ward structures.

"In addition, the digital registration process will be conducted simultaneously with entries into the hard copy membership registers that were earlier provided to all wards," Adewara said.

The PDP, therefore called on members across the state to actively participate in the process to ensure its success.

"All members are therefore encouraged to attend their ward meetings and cooperate fully with the Registration Officers to ensure a smooth and successful update exercise," he added.

The exercise comes as political parties across the country begin early preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
