Isin Elders Back Former Kwara APC Chairman BOB For 2027 Kwara Governorship Race

Date: 2026-02-22

The governorship ambition of former Kwara State chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa, has received a boost as a socio-political group in Isin Local Government Area declared support for him ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group, Isin Progressive Like Minds Elders, in a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Chief Kayode Olaoye, and Secretary, Prince Otunola Adeleye, described Bolarinwa as a leader with a proven track record in governance and a clear vision for the development of Kwara State.

According to the group, Bolarinwa has consistently demonstrated a strong understanding of the needs and aspirations of the people.

It noted that his experience across legislative and executive responsibilities, combined with what it termed a commitment to people-centered development, positions him as a credible aspirant for the governorship office.

"Kwarans are ready for a leader who listens attentively, unites genuinely, and drives sustainable development, improved security, and robust economic growth," the statement read in part.

"We firmly believe that Dr. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa (BOB) possesses the requisite experience, competence, and passion to effectively address these pressing priorities.

"We call on all well-meaning Kwarans at home and in the diaspora to join us in encouraging him to step forward and offer himself for the governorship race."
