Governor AbdulRazaq Chairs Security Council Meeting, Commends Operatives After Clearance Operations
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Monday chaired a marathon Security Council meeting to review ongoing efforts to enhance public safety across the state.
The meeting, held in Ilorin, was attended by all security commanders and top government officials, including the Secretary to the State Government, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, the Special Adviser on Security, and the Senior Special Assistant on Security.
The Governor received comprehensive briefings from representatives of the Nigeria Police Force, State Security Service (DSS), Nigerian Army, Navy, Air Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and officials of the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA).
Insights were also provided by key state officials involved in security coordination.
Governor AbdulRazaq commended the joint efforts of security operatives, particularly in recent clearance operations that have led to the arrest of suspected bandits and the rescue of affected communities in regions like Ifelodun, Patigi, and Edu.
He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to sustained funding, intelligence gathering, and inter-agency collaboration to ensure lasting peace in Kwara State.
The commanders gave details of all ongoing operations across the state, including multiple arrests, prosecutions, and intercepts of arms from hostile nonstate actors.
The Governor commended the security forces for their sacrifice, saying they deserve all the support that they get as they put in everything to ensure that the people are safe.
He called for continued vigilance and support from the public, including giving actionable and timely intelligence.
