Kidnap Victim Adam Gbechi Freed Unharmed in Kwara Without Ransom Payment
A kidnap victim, Adam Gbechi, a resident of Lata-Nna community in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, has been released unharmed, with no ransom paid.
Gbechi was abducted on Sunday during a bold attack on the community by armed bandits.
Daily Post gathered from a credible source that he returned home safely on Monday morningless than 24 hours after his abductors reportedly demanded N150 million as ransom.
The circumstances surrounding his release remain unclear, but security sources suggest possible intervention by local vigilante networks and intelligence operatives.
The swift resolution has been welcomed by community leaders, who continue to call for sustained security reinforcement in the region.
A relative of the victim who confirmed the development to Nupeko TV Lafiagi, insisted that the family did not pay the ransom.
When asked whether any money had been handed over, the source replied, "No."
Gbechi was kidnapped on Sunday night alongside his brother, Aji Hajaworo, and a married woman.
Both Hajaworo and the woman miraculously escaped soon after the abduction but Gbechi remained in captivity.
His family had earlier raised concerns, saying they could not afford the ransom demanded by the kidnappers.
The circumstances leading to his sudden release remain unknown, fueling speculation among residents about why the kidnappers decided to free him without payment.
