UK-Based QwiqKraft Empowers 500 Nigerian Youths with Creative Skills in Kwara
A United Kingdom-registered social enterprise with strong Nigerian roots, QwiqKraft, has empowered more than 500 Nigerian youths since its inception in 2020, equipping them with practical, income-generating skills in printing, branding, and entrepreneurship.
The initiative, which focuses on creative industries, has provided free training in mug, T-shirt, and cap printing, digital design, product packaging, presentation techniques, and social media marketing strategies enabling participants to launch or grow their own micro-businesses.
Speaking to reporters following a recent skill acquisition programme in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, QwiqKraft's founder and lead strategist, Adedayo Abayomi, said the project is a step toward fostering economic independence and self-worth among young Nigerians.
"Our vision is not just about teaching skills it's about igniting mindsets," Abayomi said. "We want these youths to see themselves as entrepreneurs, creators, and problem-solvers in their communities."
He highlighted that the training is designed to be hands-on and immediately applicable, ensuring that graduates can start earning within weeks of completion.
QwiqKraft's model combines technical training with entrepreneurial mentorship, helping participants turn creativity into sustainable livelihoods.
The organisation continues to expand its outreach, partnering with local stakeholders to scale its impact across underserved communities in Nigeria.
Abayomi, a UK-based human capacity development advocate, said the empowerment was a passion and legacy that provided training estimated between N3.5 million and N5 million per training, including materials, facilitation, venue and post-training support, depending on location and scale.

"We do this because we've seen the spark in their eyes when they realise I can do this. I can earn. I can grow. And that's a legacy worth building. We didn't come to donate, we came to demonstrate.
"It was sacrificial. Every mile I travelled, every machine hauled, every hour spent under the sun was a testament to QwiqKraft's belief that empowerment must be felt, not just promised.
"In Lagos, the energy was electric. Within hours, they were printing on mugs, mouse pads, and t-shirts watching their ideas come to life in full colour. Thanks to LIGHT View Initiative, RCCG Place of Peace, Lagos for providing data and moral support.
"In Ilorin, the turnout exceeded expectations. Thanks to the support of OCDI and Kwara State community. The training reached a wide range of participants. Women who had never touched a heat press were producing branded items with pride. One participant said. I came unsure. I'm leaving unstoppable.
"And in Jos, where hope often battles hardship, the hunger to learn was palpable. With facilitation support from CSRaP (UK), the training became a beacon of possibility."
He, however, urged government, organisations and other stakeholders to step forward in facilitating printing hub where youths and women could access equipment, mentorship and market-ready training.
