A 400-level Mathematics student at the University of Ilorin, Kazeem Sanusi, has shattered the Guinness World Record for the 'Longest Mathematics Lesson' with an extraordinary 31-hour, 42-minute, and 54-second lecture marathon.

The historic feat, witnessed by Guinness World Records officials, eclipsed the previous record of 26 consecutive hours. A statement issued in Ilorin yesterday by the university's Director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, revealed that Sanusi delivered the lesson to a rapt audience, including Vice-Chancellor Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services) Prof. Adegboyega Fawole; Registrar Mr Mansur Alfanla; and Student Union President Comrade Victor Agezeh, among other dignitaries.

Akogun noted: 'Kazeem's achievement has brought immense pride to the university, showcasing academic excellence and relentless determination.

"He is now eagerly awaiting official confirmation from Guinness World Record".

Congratulating the student prodigy, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Egbewole, said that the university is "immensely proud of the feat of Kazeem, and we will continue to encourage others to find their passion and pursue it."

Prof. Egbewole expressed the hope that with the provision of the enabling environment by the University Management for students to be the best they could be, others would be inspired by Kazeem's feat to also break all ceilings and continue to write the name of the university in gold.
