Enhancing Justice Delivery: Kwara Begins Work on New Court House
The Kwara State Government has officially inaugurated the construction of a landmark Court House project in Ilorin, the state capital.
Set to be a six-storey building, the Court House will feature eight courtrooms, offices, a conference hall, a library, and other modern amenities designed to streamline judicial operations in Kwara State.
During the handover of the project to the Consultant at the site along Ahmadu Bello Way, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Dr Segun Ogunsola, stated that the Court House Complex aligns with the state government's vision to enhance judicial services and infrastructure.
Dr Ogunsola disclosed that the Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq conceived the project, which is the first of its kind in Africa, to reinforce his determination to revamp every sector of the state.
The Commissioner congratulated Governor AbdulRazaq on his birthday anniversary, assuring that on completion, the project will be a model for the judiciary sector in Nigeria.
He, however, urged the Contractor to deliver a good job and ensure that the project complies with the best standard obtainable in order to justify the trust reposed in the company.
On his part, the General Manager, Kwara State Procurement Agency, Alhaji Abdulbaki Abdulraheem, congratulated Kwarans on yet another outstanding project of the present administration, saying the government will not relent in its effort to positively transform the state.
Alhaji Abdulraheem enjoined the Contractor to ensure that the project meets the expectation of the State Government and the set deadline, noting that the court house will add immense value to the infrastructural repositioning efforts of the State Government.
Speaking on behalf of the Contractor, Craneburg International, the Consultant, Baron Architecture, Babatunde Sofola, pledged to do a thorough job and deliver the project according to the terms of the contract agreement.
Sofola added that the project is a testament of the priority placed by Governor AbdulRazaq on quality project that would meet global standard and effectively serve the interest of the people.
The event was attended by Principal Officers of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, representatives of the Kwara State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice as well as Officials of Baron Architecture, the firm handling the construction project among others.
