Kwara Gov't at Six: Stakeholders Laud AbdulRazaq's Leadership on His 65th Birthday

The sixth-year administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State came into focus yesterday, coinciding with his 65th birthday, as journalists, public discussants, and politicians showered him with praise. He was described as an exceptional leader who has demonstrated unwavering dedication and genuine commitment to the welfare and progress of the people of Kwara.

The commendations were expressed during a lecture organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kwara State Council to celebrate the governor's 65th birthday anniversary. Public discussants, including politicians and religious leaders, hailed Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as a unique administrator who has set aside personal ego and interests for the greater good of the state.

The NUJ state chairman, Comrade 'Lanre Ahmed in his remarks at the Old Offa road NUJ secretariat, described the governor as a rare administrator with exclusive love of the people at heart, saying: “Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is an achiever and a soothing balm for Kwarans.”

He called for cooperation and support from residents as the state navigates the next political dispensation.

cleric, Soyyibul Bayan wished and prayed for the continued presence of the governor in the state's political space.

Bayan asked kwarans to thank almighty God for providing Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq at a time like this in view of his style of governance and the monumental achievements he had so far attracted to the state.

Delivering a keynote address themed: “legacy of leadership: examining the long term impact of AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's governance on Kwarans” the Commissioner for Solid minerals development, Dr. Afees Abolore Alabi said the governor has not only embraced responsibilities, “but has also exemplified a genuine commitment to the welfare and progress of Kwarans.”

While appreciating the Union for organising the event which he described as a testament to its commitment to promoting good governance, transparency and accountability, the Commissioner said the governor's administration ushered in moments of optimism, transformation “and rejuvenation that we must analyse carefully to understand their lasting effects on our communities.

“Governor AbdulRazaq took office with a clear vision for a prosperous and sustainable Kwara State, demonstrating a commitment to good governance, transparency and accountability.

“His policies and programmes are designed to focus on various sectors including legacy projects, infrastructural developments, urban renewal initiatives, healthcare, education, agriculture, social welfare and economic empowerment, environments, and ease of doing business among others,” he listed.

He however hinted that “a significant element of his governance has been the emphasis on community engagement by prioritising dialogue with Kwarans and encouraging participation in the development process.”

Highlighting the achievements of Governor AbdulRazaq across all sectors, Dr. Alabi urged journalists to remain resolute on taking up political leaders and querry their responsibilities to the masses as well as promote policies and programmes that benefit the people.
