Kwara State Government Warns YTP Beneficiaries Against Misuse of Starter Packs
The Kwara State Government has cautioned beneficiaries of the Youth Transformation Programme (YTP) starter packs against any actions that could deprive other Nigerians of the opportunity to benefit from the initiative, as reported by Daily Trust.
The warning was issued in Ilorin at the weekend during the distribution of starter packs to graduates of the YTP, which was facilitated by the National Hydro-electric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC).
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who was represented by his deputy, Kayode Alabi, urged the beneficiaries to make the most of the startup kits provided, emphasizing the importance of utilizing the resources effectively to achieve the programme's objectives.
The YTP is designed to empower young Nigerians with the skills and resources needed to succeed in their chosen careers, and the Kwara State Government is committed to supporting the initiative to ensure its success.
“Use them responsibly to create wealth, become self-reliant and ultimately, employ others through your hard work and dedication. Your success will not only benefit you but will also increase the chances of other youth from Kwara State being selected for future programmes.
“I, therefore, urge you to make the most of this opportunity,” he added while thanking N-HYPPADEC for the intervention.
Earlier, the managing director of N-HYPPADEC, Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, said the intervention and skills were critical for building a robust and sustainable economy in Kwara State.
In his remarks, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, represented by a director in his office, Mr Simon Tyungu, said other government agencies should replicate the initiative across the country.
