Former Kwara Deputy Speaker, Chief Ayeni, Dies in Fatal Accident

A tragic accident claimed the life of Chief Christopher Tunji Ayeni, the Akogun of Isapa, a prominent figure in Kwara State politics and former Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly. The fatal accident occurred earlier today at the Igbaja Road junction in Ajase-Ipo, Kwara State. He was 64 years old.

Chief Ayeni, aka CT Ayeni, a respected politician, had a distinguished career in public service. He served as Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly from 1999 to 2000. Subsequently, he held the position of Commissioner for Agriculture from 2000 to 2003, contributing significantly to the state's agricultural sector.

His later roles included Deputy Chief of Staff from 2011 to 2015, Chairman of the Governing Council of the Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa and Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State from 2017 to 2018.

Known for his peaceful nature and accommodating demeanour, Chief Ayeni was widely respected by his colleagues and constituents. His demise has left a void in the political landscape of Isapa in particular and Kwara State in general.
