He said,”'i didn't expect this honour, but I'm so happy to have been awarded this prestigious honour of Gaskiya Geri of Ilorin. This is a confirmation of the good works I have been doing since I joined politics. There is nothing as good as being honoured in one's community. Its the best honour anyone could wish for.

“Definitely, this honour would encourage me to serve my community in the Ilorin Emirates and even Kwara state as a whole more. As people have known me to be, I would not go astray in saying the truth and advising our revered monarch on anything other than the truth. For, me truth is sacrosanct whether anyone likes it or not.”

Emir of Ilorin, and Chairman Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari in his remarks while hosting his guests during the Thank- you- Visit sued for peace, love and brotherliness between and amongst sons and daughters of the Ilorin Emirate.

The first-class monarch who prayed for a prosperous and progressive emirate equally admonished his subjects to eschew acrimony and rancour, urging them not to allow political differences to tear the emirate apart.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari also urged his well-heeled subjects in and out of the country to spare a thought for the development of the state of origin.

“My prayers and ultimate aim since I mounted the throne of my forbears are continued love, peace and progress of my domain.

“The title bestowed on you is providential. It was God's design. So your appreciation should go to God,” the emir added.
