Kwara varsity secures accreditation for 17 programmes
Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly Razaq Atunwa has pledged the commitment of the house to give institutional and political support to ensure the success of the state-owned university (KWASU).
He gave the pledge when a team from the university led by its Vice Chancellor, Professor AbdulRasheed Na'Allah, visited the house yesterday.
The vice chancellor was in the assembly with his team to present a letter from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to show that the university had secured accreditation for all the 17 academic programmes it presented to the regulatory body.
Atunwa said the goal of the founding fathers of the university was to make it one of the best in Nigeria by the time it clocks 20 years, expressing optimism that that the incumbent administration would not deviate from that vision.
Another set of seven programmes, the vice chancellor said, would also be presented for accreditation soon.
The speaker promised that the lawmakers would enact appropriate laws that would assist the university achieve its goals, saying he was personally satisfied with the rate of growth recorded by KWASU.
