Kwara Governor Congratulates Kwara-Born ICT Expert, Engr. Abdulkareem on NFAI Appointment
According to a news report from Midland Post, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has offered warm congratulations to Kwara-born ICT expert, Eng. Mallam Taofik Abdulkareem, on his appointment to the national executive council of the Nigeria Foundation for Artificial Intelligence (NFAI).
NFAI, an initiative established by the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), brings together experts from academia, government, and industry to promote the responsible and ethical use of AI in Nigeria.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, Governor AbdulRazaq praised Eng. Abdulkareem's election to this prestigious position and emphasised the importance of ethical AI deployment, putting public interest and national security at the forefront.
“There is no debate about whether or not AI has come to stay. That is foregone. But what must concern everyone is how to ensure that humanity is strengthened, and not destroyed, by AI,” the Governor says.
“It is my hope that NFAI will work with other stakeholders to build a national consensus about ensuring ethics and discipline in the digital space, particularly among the digital natives and digital immigrants alike.”
