NBA Ilorin Branch Elects Kosemani As Chairman, Jimoh As Secretary

According to a news report from The Nigeria Lawyer, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ilorin Branch held its elections on Tuesday, 25 June 2024, to select new executive committee members. S. M. H. Kosemani, the former Chairman of the Arewa Youth Leaders Forum (YLF), emerged as the new Chairman, while O. D. Jimoh was elected as the Secretary.

Prof. Y.O Abdul, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, announced that S. M. H. Kosemani was elected as Chairman unopposed. In the contest for the position of Secretary, Olayinka Dauda Jimoh secured 152 votes, defeating Isiaq Sekoni, who received 65 votes.

Oganija Yusuf Muhammed was elected as the Assistant Secretary with 116 votes, while Abdulrasheed Ishola Oke received 101 votes. Sulyman Musleemah emerged as Treasurer, polling 124 votes against A. A. Ajiboye, who secured 104 votes.

The following candidates were elected unopposed for their respective positions:

• Vice Chairman: Ikeh Sunday
• Financial Secretary: Ogedengbe John
• Social Secretary: Adeniyi Sakariyau Abdullah
• Welfare Secretary: Raji Adejoke Eniola
• Public Relations Officer (P.R.O): Ahmed Yakub Aliagan
• Provost: Nurudeen Abdulateef Aladodo

The inauguration of the newly elected executive committee members is scheduled for Friday, June 28, 2024, at the NBA House in Ilorin, Kwara State.
