Olofa's PA Accused Of Slapping Council Boss

Date: 2024-05-16

According to a news report from Daily Trust, Moshood Mustapha, the Personal Assistant (PA) to the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye, has been brought before a Kwara State High Court on charges of assaulting the Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) Chairman of Offa LGA, Olatundun Olajare Thomas.

Mr. Thomas initiated legal action against Mustapha through the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), resulting in Mustapha's arraignment before Justice Zikir Umar. He is accused of attempted culpable homicide under Section 229 of the Penal Code and Section 3 (1) of the Kwara State Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law.

The charge sheet alleges that Mustapha physically assaulted the TIC chairman by slapping him at the Olofa's palace, causing bodily harm.

Mustapha denied the allegations, and his counsel, Barrister Femi, applied for bail. Barrister Muhammed Akande, representing the complainant, appeared for the DPP.

The court granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N2 million with two sureties and adjourned the case until June 24, 2024.
