Police Apprehend Polytechnic Student with Cult Recruitment Forms in Hotel
According to a news report from Daily Trust, officers of the Kwara State Police Command have detained a student from the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State, after discovering recruitment forms for a cult group in a local hotel.
The arrest follows a crackdown on criminal elements in response to recent cult-related fatalities in Ilorin, with over 28 suspects already in custody, as confirmed by Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya.
Olaiya affirmed the arrest of the student, revealing, “We have also arrested six more suspects, among who is a boy who came all the way from the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State.
“Based on intelligence, he was nabbed in his hotel room very early in the morning and he confessed to the crime.
“The other issue is that he even had quite a large number of application and enrollment forms for would-be cultists. We suspect he came for both recruitment and operation. We are still on the case.”
