Gov. AbdulRazaq to Make Kwara Stand Out Through SAPZ Project - Agric Commissioner
•Initiative Proves Gov's Vision Great-SPC
The Kwara State Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Hon. Oloruntoyosi Thomas, has said that the State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, will make the State stand out in terms of agro-economic development through the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones Project, just as the Governor is harnessing the potentials in the State to attract investors and widen wealth opportunities.
Hon. Thomas disclosed this while meeting with the State Project Coordinator and Project Implementation Units (PIU) of the SAPZ project today, where she commented on the benefits of the project and tasked the officers on commitment to successful implementation of the programme.
The Commissioner, who noted that the SAPZ programme is an initiative to jump-start agro-business for economic diversification, maintained that Kwara is setting a model in the nation with the establishment of an Agro-Hub and Four Agricultural Transformation Centres across the State to engineer prosperity for Kwarans.
She further stated that by the time the Agro-Hub and ATCs are ready, the project will positively impact on the State and make Kwarans prouder of their State.
While charging the PIU to be proactive and have a big picture of the objectives of the programme, the Commissioner enjoined the team to think about the programme from the deeper level and project big vision for the programme.
She then urged every officer to add value to the implementation process of the project, acknowledging the leadership charisma and capability of the Coordinator which she described as re-assuring.
Receiving the Commissioner, the State Project Coordinator, KW-SAPZ Project, Engr. Dr. Busari Toyin Isiaka described the SAPZ initiative in the State as a proof of His Excellency's great vision for the State.
He assured the Commissioner of his team's readiness to add value to the project at both individual and collective levels.
