Kwara Commences Reconstruction Of Varsity Bridge

Date: 2024-01-12

The Kwara State Government has commenced the reconstruction of the collapsed bridge linking the state university in Malete with Shao in Moro LGA.

The government, on Thursday, deployed machinery and a workforce to the site to commence work in earnest.

The development was coming more than six months after the bridge was washed away on July 18, 2023, by a downpour.

Speaking on the development on Thursday, the acting Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University, Prof Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, thanked the government for the reconstruction.

He said the collapsed culvert was pivotal to vehicular movement from the state capital to the university and the many agrarian communities in the area.
