SWAN Lauds Gov Abdulrazaq Over Commitment To Improving Sports facilities In Kwara
Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Kwara State Chapter has commended Governor AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq for embarking on sports facility tour at the Kwara State Stadium in Ilorin on Wednesday.
Kwara SWAN Chairman, Mallam Ayodeji Ismail, in a statement on Thursday stated that the Governor deserved all the accolades for his performances in the sports sector in his five years in office.
Mallam Ayodeji Ismail said Kwara State remains the only state that can host 32 sporting events at the same venue without resulting in taking any sports out of the stadium.
He said the Governor and Kwara State Government have once again shown that they are a model in all sectors with the reconstruction of sporting facilities in the state.
He said, "Kwara SWAN wants to commend the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq for embarking on a facility tour to the world class Squash and Table Tennis Courts. It means the Governor is up to speed with the development of sports in the state.
"At the recently concluded National Youth Games in Delta State, Kwara State finished a record fifth position, performing excellently in the Squash and Table Tennis events. It simply means Kwara State is taking its rightful positions in these sports.
"We are confident that the completion of the courts will create room for National and International Championships to be held in Kwara State and our products will be showcased to the World".
"Sports under Governor AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq has performed credibly well winning laurels in over 20 National Championships", Ayodeji added.
He revealed plans are underway to host Governor AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq on the third edition of Sports Hard Talk next November.
