Gunmen abduct pastor's wife, two others in Kwara
Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted the wife of a Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) pastor and two others in Kwara State.
The abductors, said to be about seven, invaded the agrarian community of Elerinjare in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state on Thursday night and whisked their victims away.
The incident happened at about 8:45pm.
The pastor's wife, identified as Blessing Ajiboye, was said to have been kidnapped in her shop along with two of her staff members while attending to customers.
The two shop assistants later regained their freedom, it was gathered.
Pastor Johnson Olalekan Ajiboye said that the gunmen, who included two women, attacked the ever busy shop from a nearby bush beside a Community Primary School located in the area.
Pastor Ajiboye said that he stepped out of the shop to pick an item from their residence situated nearby the shop when he heard gunshots.
The cleric said he called out from the balcony of the house when he heard the wife's distress call. On hearing his voice, Pastor Ajiboye said the hoodlums fired shots at the windows and doors of his house, making it difficult for him to go out to do anything to help the embattled wife.
“The gunmen did not touch or cart away any money. They only grabbed my 34-year-old wife, Blessing Ajiboye, after removing the baby on her back. They dropped the baby on the ground,” he said.
It was also gathered that one of Pastor Ajiboye's neighbours said to be sitting near the shop was hit by a bullet and currently receiving treatment at a nearby private hospital.

Members of the local vigilante were already on ground to complement efforts of the men of the anti-kidnap squad of the state police command to comb the area for possible arrest of the suspected kidnappers.
Kwara State Police Command spokesperson, Ajayi Okasanmi, could not confirm the incident. When contacted he said that he was yet to get details of the incident.
