Kwara Durbar festival

More than 500 horsemen will be led by the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, to mark this year's edition of the annual Ilorin Emirate Durbar festival.

The Chairman, Ilorin Emirate Durban Committee, Suleiman Yahaya Alapansanpa made the announcement during a news briefing at the Emir's palace on the 2023 Edition of the festival in Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital.

Mr Alapansanpa said the Emir would be accompanied by the High Chiefs of the Emirate, members of the royal family and honorary title holders.

He also said this year's edition would be the 5th since its reintroduction, noting that the emirate was getting it better organised and more appreciated as the years went bye.

According to him, this year's activities will be running for six days with different programme schedules, adding that residents were expected to conduct themselves peacefully and maturely throughout the ceremonies.
