JAMB: UNILORIN hopes to maintain most subscribed varsity for 5th time – VC

Date: 2023-04-19

The University of Ilorin is hoping to maintain the feat of the most subscribed university in Nigeria for a record 5th time with the forth coming Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination for prospective admission seekers.

Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Abdulwahab Egbewole, stated this during a Ramadan iftar/interactive session with journalists in Ilorin.

Already, he said the university has been designated as an innovation hub by TETFund for which it has so far received a cumulative grant of about N1billion.

“I want to plead with us to continue to believe in our university as the most subscribed university in Nigeria. And we are set to improve the feat by maintaining it for the fifth time in the next JAMB exercise by God's grace,” he said.

To address the transportation challenges experienced as a result of the growing number of its student's population, Egbewole said some staff of the university in the electrical department were developing a home-grown model for electric transportation system to solve the challenges adding that new buses will also be injected.

He added that the university under his administration has commenced asphalt laying of some major roads within the campus.
