As results trickle in for last Saturday's presidential and national assembly elections, two candidates of the upper house have been declared winners of the election.

They are Yinka Aluko, former Special Adviser to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq on special duties for the House of Representatives seat for Ilorin East/South, and serving member of the national assembly, Tunji Olawuyi, for Irepodun/Ekiti/Isin and Oke-Ero, who won his re-election for the seat.

Both winners contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the state, in the last Saturday.

Tunji Olawuyi, according to the result released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Kwara state, scored a total vote of 22,400, to beat his PDP rival, who scored 19,092, while the candidate of the Social Democratic, SDP, scored 9,331 votes.

Dr Nurudeen Bello, the INEC returning officer, declared the winners on Sunday at the collation centre at Omu-Aran, headquarters of Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara state.
