Goods worth N11.5m destroyed in fire in Ilorin
Goods worth N11.5m were destroyed in a fire disaster which occurred on Monday in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
The fire incident burnt five container shops out of 15 container shops located at Lubcon Road Odota Junction, in Ilorin metropolis.
The fire incident occurred at about 05:67hrs, according to a statement in Ilorin by the spokesman of the state fire service, Hassan Adekunle.
Shops affected by the incident include, Bet9ja, Bukatariat, Nairabet, provision store and welder shop.
He said one anonymous person quickly summoned the fire brigade to the scene of occurrence through a telephone call.
Hassan said the firemen's quick intervention, extinguished the ravaging inferno on time.
Report says, the fire was as a result of power surge, he added.
Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, urged the general public particularly the shop owners to always learn to play safe.
