Ilorin Emirate Council Affirms Saraki's Political Leadership
Members of the highly revered Ilorin Emirate Council in Kwara State have expressed their support for Senator Bukola Saraki's political leadership of the state.
The emirate council that comprises all the kingmakers in Ilorin also said that there was no other qualified person to take over the political leadership of the state other than Senator Saraki in view of his past achievement.
The council members include the Balogun Fulani, Alhaji Atiku Duroshinlohun, Balogun Gambari, Alhaji Aliu Mohammed, Balogun Ajikobi, Alhaji Issa Mohammed, Balogun Alanamu, Alhaji Abubakar Akanbi and Mogaji Are, Alhaji Aremu Zubair.
Duroshinlohun who is the most senior Balogun disclosed this at the weekend during the thank-you-visit of Saraki to the palaces of the chiefs in Ilorin.
He noted that Saraki had turned around the fortunes of the state and its people during his eight years as the governor of the state.
He pledged the continued support of the traditional rulers and the people of the state for Saraki political dynasty.
At the Emir of Ilorin's palace, the Emir, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, who had vowed to fight anyone who attempts to cause disunity in the Saraki's family, reasoned that naturally Bukola should step into the shoes of his father.
Responding, Senator Saraki thanked the chiefs, Kwarans and Nigerians from all walks of life for their support during the death and funeral of his father, Dr Olusola Saraki.
He assured Kwarans of an all inclusive leadership style that would bring more prosperity to all, irrespective of their political affiliations.
Saraki also promised to sustain the legacies of his father by continuing to champion the cause of the common man.
He pledged to continue to encourage the PDP-led government in the state to continue dishing out dividends of democracy to Kwarans.
Recalled that various trade unions, professional bodies, artisans, market men and women had during their condolence visits to the Sarakis, pledged their support for Senator Saraki's political leadership of the state.
