Ahmed Urges Northern Leaders to Collaborate over Insecurity
The Kwara State governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has called on the leadership of the north to close ranks in order to find solutions to the social and security challenges bedeviling the zone.
Ahmed made the call when the leadership of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) paid a condolence visit to him at the Government House, Ilorin on the death of Dr Olusola Saraki.
Ahmed asserted that although it might be difficult for any individual to meet up with the generosity of the late Waziri of Ilorin in helping the poor, a milestone will be achieved through collective effort.
He explained that "the Late Dr Saraki had left a big void that may be difficult to fill without unity". "Collectively we might be able to develop a platform to drive some of what he stood for. He stood for growth and development of the people because he believed that every strength required tomove on resided in the people".
Ahmed affirmed that the Late Dr Abubakar Olusola Saraki worked selflessly for a better Kwara State and Nigeria as a strong believer in a strong and virile nation, which he promised his administration would sustain.
In his remarks, ACF Chairman, Alhaji Aliko Mohammed extolled the virtues of the late Waziri of Ilorin, describing him as a man of generosity and compassion for the poor and a strong believer in the Nigerian nation.
