Kwara PDP Youth Group Vows to Work with Stakeholders to Reclaim Power from APC

Kwara State Youth Wing of opposition Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) has said that it is poised to work with the other stakeholders in the party in order to ensure the electoral victory of the party in 2023 polls.

In order to achieve the goal, the group said that, it mobilised thousands of youths across the 16 local government council areas of the state to wrestle power from the ruling APC in the state.

Speaking at a news conference in Ilorin on Wednesday, the coordinator of PDP youths wing in the state, Hon. Nurudeen Muhammed said that, "We have resolved to join hands with the PDP leadership in the state led by the former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki so as to educate and enlighten the electorate on the need to provide alternative leadership in Kwara State during the 2023 polls".

Muhammed said that, "The Kwara PDP Youth Wing is a political support group with the mission to build the largest network of young eligible voters across the State leveraging on galvanizing youth political worth and electoral value to push holistically for PDP to reclaim Kwara and Nigeria from the ineptitudeness of the APC.

"The drive which was motivated by his Excellency, former Senate President,Dr. Bukola Saraki who recommended sundry privileges including the 30% leadership concession/inclusion for youth and women in the new composition of the PDP party executives positions in Kwara.

"It's worthy to commend the PDP as a party and also the national leader, His Excellency Dr Bukola Saraki, a two term Governor of Kwara State and the immediate past chairman of the 8th National Assembly for fulfilling the promise of inclusiveness of youth and women in the recently concluded PDP ward congresses across the 193 political wards in Kwara State.

"We can not but only commend and appreciate a leader whose words have remained his bond. His Excellency Dr..Saraki has again displayed his uncommon passion and dedication to youth inclusion in governance.

"Just has he expressly facilitated the passage of Not Too Young bill while holding sway as Senate President of Federal Republic of Nigeria in the 8th National Assembly, he has again expressed unflinching disposition to practical working of the bill that is now a law which the incumbent ruling APC who signed it into law have failed to exemplify".

Muhammed added that, "The outcome of last weekend PDP Ward Congresses across the 193 Wards in Kwara State have clearly reflected the promised 30% youth and women inclusion in party leadership.

"This remained first of it kind and is very unprecedented. This has further put the PDP into new limelight as the old order is confirmed gone, the new dawn is here in Kwara PDP.

He therefore said that, ."We as a youth wing of the Kwara PDP promise, with the needed energy and drive, to continue mobilizing eligible voters and supporters (using the e-registration platform) to our great party in order to ensure electoral victory of the party in the state".
