Man, 20, machetes one to death in Kwara

Kwara State Police Command has arrested a 20 year old man, Azeez Akinloye, for allegedly killing one person with a cutlass at the Gaa Shagari area, Off Egbejila in the Ilorin metropolis.

In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state Police command, Okasanmi Ajayi, the suspect, and the deceased, Akeem aka Lakan, were using cutlasses on each other apparently in a scuffle when the victim was killed.

The police, who did not give a motive for the killing, said that the state commissioner of Police, Tuesday, Assayomo, had directed an investigation into the matter.

"A case of culpable homicide was reported on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at about 0905 hours, upon a distress call at Gaa Shagari area, Off Egbejila in the Ilorin metropolis, that one Akeem, male, surname unknown, aka Lakan" and Azeez Akinloye, male, both of Odore area were using cutlasses on each other at the aforementioned address.
