First Bank Donates N1M to Unilorin
First bank of Nigeria has presented a check of Five million naira to the University of Ilorin.
Presenting the check to the Vice chancellor of the University, the team leader of first bank of Nigeria UNILORIN campus branch, Bimbo Olanipekun said the check is to support the University in its forthcoming convocation ceremonies.
Olanipekun said the Bank has been supporting the University since year 2009 in order to take the University to greater heights.
Another member of the team Shola Faleye expressed joy for the warm reception while promising the bank's continuous support to the University.
Faleye said the University has been doing so much and as such they don't have a choice than to support and contribute to its developments.
They congratulated the new Vice Chancellor on his new appointment while promising their unalloyed support.
In his acceptance speech, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali thanked the management of First Bank Nigeria UNILORIN Campus Branch for their unalloyed support promising that the University would continue to also be a partner in progress.
Professor Ambali assured that the money would be judiciously used for the purpose for which it was meant .
He latter handed over the check to the University Bursar Mr. Ayo Shijuola.
Earlier the Chairman of the Unilorin ceremonial committee Professor Olu Atte said over the years First bank has been one of the few campus banks that supports the University.
Professor Atte said since the year 2009, the bank has been supporting in the Production of the order of proceedings for the convocation.
He stated further that when he approached them this year, they gladly accepted and also decided to pay a visit to the new Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali.
The event which was held at the office of the Vice Chancellor had in attendance, the Registrar, Mrs. Olufolake Oyeyemi, Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics, Professor Bayo Lawal, Deputy Vice Chancellor Management services, Professor Yissa Fakunle, Deputy Vice Chancellor Research Training and Innovation, Professor Felix Oladele, The Liberian Dr. Omoniyi and the bursar, Mr Ayo Sijuola.
