Date: 2018-10-02

As Nigerians celebrated the Independence Day, a call has gone to the Federal Government to expedite action and ensure the implementation of new minimum wage for the Nigerian workers.

A renowned cleric, Pastor Peter Olajide made the call while speaking with newsmen on the occasion of Independent Day in Efon Alaye, Ekiti state.

Pastor Olajide, who is the Minister in charge of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Apostle Joseph Ayo-Babalola Tomb Efon-Alaye said the payment of the new minimum wage would reassure the readiness of government towards improving the welfare of workers in the country.

Speaking on the forthcoming general elections, the clergy man called on political parties in the country to play the game according to the rules to ensure the successful conduct of the polls

Pastor Olajide said the success of the poll would accelerate more development in the country and advised the leaders and members of political parties across the country to be tolerant.

The Man of God therefore implored Nigerians to be law abiding and security conscious before, during and after the celebrations as progress and development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace.
